Researchers have evidence for the positive effects of parent involvement on children, families, and the school community. When schools and parents continuously work together to support and encourage children's learning and development the results are high achievement. Studies show the most accurate predictor of a student's achievement in school is not income or social status but the extent to which the student's family is able to create a home environment that encourages and express high expectations for achievement, future careers and consistent involvement in the education process.
Oak Park Service Learning Academy offers a variety of opportunities for parents and staff to work together to ensure the success of all of our students. Through membership with our parent organizations, education forums, Parent Universities and evening curriculum nights parents have many opportunities to be involved in their child's academic career.
We encourage and welcome your support.
